High School Ice Hockey: Ramsay Outduels Sabol As East Edges Cherokee Friday, January 26, 2001 By Mike Costantino Brendan Ramsay and Chris Sabol put on a clinic in strong goaltending, but it was Ramsay's strong play in the third period that enabled Cherry Hill East to edge Cherokee 2-1 in a game played at Hollydell on Friday night. Each goalie took turns carrying their team in the first period with Sabol stopping all eleven shots, including several from point blank range to keep the game scoreless heading into the middle stanza. The second period was Ramsay's turn as he stoned several Cherokee players on breakaways and the game remained scoreless until less than four minutes remaining in the period. |
Winning Ways: Flexibility Wednesday, January 24, 2001 By Gregory "Graig" White The main purpose of our flexibility program is to lesson the possibility of injury to our athletes. Warming up and then stretching works to prevent strains and muscle tears. The reason for warming up first is to raise the general body and deep muscle temperatures, which in turns make the muscles more pliable, lending itself to greater movement. This also aids in the prevention of muscle soreness. |
