Today at Rutgers University at Camden, some of the best graduating high school basketball players got together and competed one last time against each other. A game of this type can create all kinds of thoughts in the heads of athletes, the one thought that is prevalent is no one wants to be embarrassed. There were some embarrassing moments but on the whole was a well played game. That speaks volumes to the ability of the coaches to make teams out of athletes that may have played a more prominent role on their own teams.

There was a high flying aerial event going on at Rutgers-Camden this past Saturday afternoon which featured some talented high school seniors. Right before the start of the 24th Annual All-Star Games of South Jersey which featured coaches and players from 30 schools, a spectacular slam dunk contest took place which showcased some of our area finest athletes to enter the collegiate level. This event gave the crowd enough dunks that lifted them out of their seats. After the final dunks were completed, Schalick's Darryl Gause and Millville's Azime Smith finished in a tie which sent both players into a final tie breaker dunk.

What a day! The 24th Annual 8th grade All-Star Game of South Jersey was played, and the future of high school basketball looks bright. The game brought players from all over South Jersey together to show the fans what they can expect at the next level.

Event Spotlight:
Wings Rally To Win On Bergey's Goal In Overtime

Jake Bergey scored on the Wings first possession in overtime to defeat the Washington Power 14-13 in a game played in front of 16,779 rabid fans at the First Union Center. The Philadelphia Wings scored two goals in the last ninety seconds to send the game into overtime. Tom Marachek led the Wings attack with four goals and Bergey notched a hat trick. The Power's Jesse Hubbard had three goals while Paul and Gary Gait added two goals apiece.
