Lady Banshees Hands Charlotte Their First Loss

When a team works hard for an extended period of time to achieve a goal, that effort is usually rewarded with a victory. The South Jersey Banshees were hosting the, then, undefeated Charlotte Lady Eagles at Cherokee Stadium in Marlton. Solid goaltending and determined defense kept the Lady Eagles and their eight straight victories off the scoreboard. Midfielder Kristin Dunst received a pass from Lisa Genna from about 15-yards out and scored the only goal of the game. The defense continued to work hard the rest of the game to preserve the win.

South Jersey Barons Still In Playoff Hunt

In the second game of a double header at Cherokee High School, the South Jersey Barons took on the Western Mass Pioneers in USL D-3 soccer action. Both teams came into tonight's game with similar records of 4-7-1. The game ended with the Barons coming out on top with a 3-2 victory. The win puts the Barons record at 5-7-1 and places them in the hunt for a playoff berth.

A new sport has been gaining interest in this area which symbolizes a tremendous game, well worth watching, fast paste and considered an honorable sport. Ultimate Frisbee is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands the world over. It mixes the best features of sports such as soccer, basketball, football and netball into an elegantly simple, yet fascinating and demanding game. Different levels of the game could consist of an unmatched degree of speed, stamina and agility. But also could be resembled as a good all rounded workout.

Wings Head Coach Tony Resch Retires

Tony Resch, a 14-year veteran of the 2001 National Lacrosse League Champion Philadelphia Wings, has announced he is retiring to pursue other opportunities with his other full-time position, according to Wings' President and co-owner Russ Cline.
