Bronson Sardinha's three-run double in the 6th Inning was the key hit in Trenton's 8-6 win over Akron on Sunday afternoon. Trenton remains one game ahead of New Hampshire for 2nd Place in the Northern Division "wild card" race. Akron got the first run of the game on a 2nd Inning solo homer by 3B Pat Osborn, but Trenton responded with four runs against Aeros starter Ronald Bay in the 3rd Inning. 1B Yobal Duenas tied the game with an RBI single followed two batters later by an RBI single from 2B Gabe Lopez for the lead. Michael Coleman added a sacrifice fly for a 3-1 lead. 3B Eric Duncan capped the inning with an RBI single.

Soccer Campers Had Great Fun

For the past 22 year, soccer players from the South Jersey area had a great time at the Star Soccer Academy Soccer Camp during the first week of August at the Camden County Vocational School in Sicklerville, NJ and the last week of July at the Richard Teitelman School in Cape May, NJ. Players from Berlin Boro, Berlin Twp, TBAA, Highland, Winslow, West Deptford, Winslow, and many other clubs learned to have fun while playing soccer in the very hot sun.

A bases loaded walk to Eider Torres in the 8th Inning scored the go-ahead run in a 6-3 win by Akron over the Thunder on Saturday night. The teams traded runs over the first four innings. Akron scored in the top half of the 1st, 3rd and 4th Innings, but Trenton responded with a run each time in the bottom half. Akron got two RBI from 1B Shaun Larkin, including a solo homer, in the early parts of the game. Trenton had RBI hits from DH Michael Coleman and CF Melky Cabrera, along with a solo homer by LF Rudy Guillen.

S. Duncan Hits 30th Homer in Thunder Loss

The Akron Aeros pounded out 13 hits off Thunder pitching and the Thunder's Shelley Duncan hit his 30th home run of the year as the Aeros topped the Trenton Thunder, 7-2, on Friday night at Waterfront Park. The Aeros started the scoring in the second as Eider Torres had a two out, two run single. Torres would later score on a Matt DeSalvo wild pitch.

Lopez Homers Twice in 5-4 Win Over Akron

Gabe Lopez's home run with two outs in the 11th Inning lifted the Thunder to a 5-4 win over Akron on Thursday night and put Trenton two games ahead of New Hampshire for the Northern Division "wild card". The Thunder (60-58) trailed 4-2 entering the 7th Inning, but scratched out a run, courtesy of a CF Melky Cabrera RBI ground out, to close the gap to 4-3. Lopez then launched a solo homer off Akron's Juan Lara with one out in the 9th Inning to tie the game at 4-4.

Barrage Lose Last Home Game Of Season

The Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier outdoor lacrosse league, lost their final regular season game to the New Jersey pride at Villanova stadium tonight. With the loss, the Barrage fail to advance to the playoffs and defend their 2004 MLL title. Tonight’s MVP was New Jersey goal Scott Schroeder who recorded saves in the 16-12 win.

Thunder Go Deep Twice in 6-1 Win

Home runs from Bronson Sardinha and Eric Duncan, along with six shutout innings from starter Calvin Maduro, led the Thunder to a 6-1 win over Reading on Wednesday. The win snaps a five-game home losing streak for Trenton. Maduro (1-0) blanked Reading on one hit through six innings to earn the win. He walked two and struck out four. CF Michael Bourn collected the only hit off maduro, a single in the 3rd Inning. Trenton staked him to an early lead with a three-run homer by RF Bronson Sardinha, his 11th of the season, in the 3rd Inning against Reading starter Mike Smith.

Thunder Fall to R-Phils, 3-2

A pinch-hit RBI single from Ryan Barthelemy in the 9th Inning scored Chris Roberson with the go-ahead run in a 3-2 win by Reading over the Thunder on Monday night. The Phillies grabbed a 2-0 lead against Thunder starter Danny Borrell in the 4th Inning. A two-base error by Bronson Sardinha set up the inning. DH Jim Deschaine lined a double off the left field wall to score Carlos Leon for a 1-0 lead. Nate Grindell plated a run with a fielder's choice for a 2-0 lead. Borrell (1-1) allowed just those two unearned runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings.
