Steamers Hand KiXX 7-3 Defeat

The Philadelphia KiXX (6-17) were defeated by former player/coach Omid Namazi and the St. Louis Steamers (18-5) by a score of 7-3 in front of 5,625 patrons at the Wachovia Spectrum. Elvir Kafedzic recorded the game-winning goal on an assist from Sterling Westcott at 7:12 of the third period. Peter Pappas (6-15) took the loss in net for Philadelphia with nine saves on 16 chances, while Brett Phillips (16-4) earned the victory for the Steamers with 17 saves on 20 shots faced.

Cavosie Gets Jiggy On St. Patrick's Day

Irish eyes were smiling on Marc Cavosie Friday night at the Wachovia Spectrum, as he pulled off a St. Patrick's Day hat trick to lift the Philadelphia Phantoms to a 3-2 overtime win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Cavosie polished off the night 2:03 into OT. The Phantoms jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 2:03 into the first period. Stephen Wood launched a drive from the high slot, and Cavosie was in place to deflect the puck past Penguins netminder Dany Sabourin.

Washington Twp Travel Basketball Team Receives Top Honors

This team has been together since 5th grade, finishing first place in the South Jersey League the past 3 years and winning the Championship in Cape Atlantic & South Jersey Leagues this year. With an impressive season record of total wins home and away for 2005/06 at 35-1. Loosing only one game to the second ranked team Mt. Laurel at there home court due to team players missing because of sickness, but still gave them a battle.

Phantoms Humbled, Wolf Pack Win 8-2

The Philadelphia Phantoms took one on the chin Wednesday night at the Wachovia Spectrum, as the visiting Hartford Wolf Pack handed the Phantoms a humbling 8-2 loss. Brad Smyth paced the Pack with five points on two goals and three assists. Colby Genoway put the Wolf Pack on the board with the first period's lone goal 6:22 in, as a shot by Jake Taylor deflected to the left wing circle. From that spot, Genoway chipped in his 22nd of the season.

Raptor of the Week: Greg Galbraith

Junior pitcher Greg Galbraith posted his first career victory in style during the Scarlet Raptors’ spring trip to California. Galbraith tossed a four-hit shutout in a 17-0, seven-inning win at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He retired the first eight batters before allowing a two-out single in the third inning. He also allowed a fifth-inning single and a pair of hits, one of them a double, in the seventh. He struck out three and only walked one batter. It was the first shutout for Rutgers-Camden since Tom Ford blanked Richard Stockton College, 7-0, on April 9, 2004.
