Features Phillies Mr. Potato Head, Player Action Figures and Family Celebrations

Mr. Potato Head, All Fans Collectible Figurine Series, Player Action Figures and family celebrations are among the many promotions and events being planned by the Phillies during the 2005 season at Citizens Bank Park.

The event schedule includes something for fans of all ages.

Tickets to these special events and all 81 home games will go on sale starting on Wednesday, February 23, at phillies.com, via the phone center (215 463-1000) or in person at the Citizens Bank Park First Base Gate ticket windows.

CELEBRATIONS, PROMOTIONS & EVENTS

Modell’s Sporting Goods Opening Day – Baseball returns to Citizens Bank Park for an historic three-game series with the Washington Nationals, the team that relocated from Montreal after last season. From 1901 through 1971, the Washington Senators were members of the American League. Now, 34 years later, baseball returns to the nation’s capital and the first stop is Philadelphia.

* Monday, April 4, 3:05 p.m., a special pre-game ceremony includes a patriotic salute featuring a sensational performance by the U.S. Navy Parachute Team, leaping out of an aircraft onto the field. Every fan will receive a Rally Towel, courtesy of Modell’s Sporting Goods.

* Wednesday, April 6, 7:05 p.m., first night game in the history of the Washington Nationals.

* Thursday, April 7, 1:05 p.m., Citizens Bank Businessperson’s Special; the first of seven mid-week day games.

Southwest Airlines Schedule Magnets – All fans will receive a Phillies 2005 schedule magnet on Saturday, April 16, 4:05 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, an 8:05 Sunday night ESPN national telecast.

McDonald's Phillies Cap (Wednesday, April 20, 7:05 p.m.) – It’s College Night at the Phillies, and all guests 15 and over will receive this fun, college-type cap embroidered with a navy Phillies “P”.

Citizens Bank Phanatic Birthday/Phanatic Plush Doll (Sunday, May 1, 1:35 p.m.) – The Phanatic’s birthday bash is back! Festivities include a Phanatic Plush Doll giveaway – in a unique, new costume – to guests 14 years and younger.

Women’s Fleece Phillies Blanket (Sunday, May 15, 1:35 p.m.) – All women 15 years and older will be receiving this comfy Phillies fleece blanket.

Phillies Mr. Potato Head (Sunday, June 5, 1:35 p.m.) – Wearing a Phillies pinstriped home jersey and Phillies cap or helmet, the 5-inch tall Mr. Potato Head includes interchangeable arms holding a bat, ball and glove, two facial options and one pair of cleats; for children 14 years and under.

Collectible Figurine Series – A Phillies first for all fans! Collect them all: Jim Thome, sponsored by Keystates Chrysler Jeep (Thursday, May 12, 7:05 p.m.), Jimmy Rollins, sponsored by Toyota (Tuesday, June 21, 7:05 p.m.), and Bobby Abreu (Monday, September 5, 7:05 p.m.).

Modell’s Sporting Goods Senior Stroll the Bases (Monday, June 6, 1:05 p.m.) – Seniors are invited to go onto the field post-game and stroll the bases just as if they were a Major League player!

Chevrolet Reversible Bucket Hat (Sunday, June 12, 1:35 p.m.) – This reversible retro-style hat includes the Phillies 1980s script logo embroidery on one side, the Phillies “P” sewn-on patch on the other; for men 15 and over.

Sound of Philadelphia Celebration (Wednesday, June 22, 7:05 p.m.) – In celebration of Black Music Month, the Phillies will host The Sound of Philadelphia Celebration, featuring musical performances before and during the game.

Annual Phillies Phestival for ALS (Monday, June 27) – This annual benefit for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) features player autograph signing, specialty photo booths, live and silent auctions and family games.

Hatfield Phillies Franks Dollar Dog Dates – Dollar dog days are back: Tuesday, May 17, 7:05 p.m.; Tuesday, June 7, 7:05 p.m.; and Monday, August 15, 7:05 p.m.

Independence Blue Cross Fireworks Shows (Friday, July 1, 7:05 p.m. and Friday, July 8, 7:05 p.m.) – Two nights of the ultimate fireworks show.

Turkey Hill Wiffle Ball Set (Sunday, July 3, 1:35 p.m.) – Guests 14 years and younger will receive this fun wiffle ball and bat set, courtesy of Turkey Hill.

Modell’s Sporting Goods Kids Run the Bases (Sunday, July 10, 1:35 p.m. and Thursday, August 4, 1:05 p.m.) – Kids 14 and under can find out what it’s like to be a Major League player and run the bases after the game.

Pat Burrell & Billy Wagner Sports Picks Action Figures (Sunday, July 17, 1:35 p.m.) – McFarlane Toys, a leading toy manufacturer and one of the premier action figure producers on the planet, produced these 3-inch action sculpts of Pat Burrell (wearing a home uniform in a swinging pose) and Billy Wagner (wearing a road uniform in a pitching pose); for guests 14 and under.

IBEW Local 98 Player T-Shirt (Sunday, July 24, 1:35 p.m.) – This player t-shirt is for guests 14 years and younger.

Citizens Bank Pride of the Phillies Print (Thursday, August 4, 1:05 p.m.) – The series continues with this new edition print, which is sure to be a collector’s item; for all guests.

Wall of Fame Night (Friday, August 5, 7:05 p.m.) – A former Phillies star will be inducted into the team’s Wall of Fame pre-game. Some Wall of Fame players will participate in the festivities. The Wall of Fame display, located in the Memory Lane section (Ashburn Alley), is sponsored by the Philadelphia Zoo.

Phillies Alumni Night (Saturday, August 6, 7:05 p.m.) – Alumni from the tri-state area will be introduced pre-game, including Greg Luzinski, Larry Christenson, Garry Maddox, Dallas Green and Mike Rodogzinski.

Motrin Favorite Player Batting Helmet (Sunday, August 7, 1:35 p.m.) – Children 14 years and under will receive this plastic replica Phillies Batting Helmet. Includes numbered stickers so kids can put their favorite player's number on the back of the helmet.

PECO Back to School Pack (Sunday, August 21, 1:35 p.m.) – Get ready for school with the PECO Back to School Pack; for guests 14 years and younger.

Latino Family Celebration (Wednesday, September 14, 7:05 p.m.) – The third annual Latino Family Celebration will be a night filled with Latin food, music and dancing in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Fan Appreciation Night (Wednesday, September 28, 7:05 p.m.) – Prizes and festivities all night long!
