South Jersey Baseball: Surf Salvage Series with 4-3 Win Sunday, August 22, 2004 By Don Delaney Camden Riversharks Media Relations Manager The Camden Riversharks had their nine-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon as the Atlantic City Surf salvaged the final game of a four-game series with a 4-3 victory at Campbell ’s Field. Al Benjamin and Melvin Rosario hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the ninth inning for the Surf to break a 1-1 tie.  The two home runs ruined a good day for Camden starter Ben Simon, who had allowed just one run and three hits through his first eight innings of work. The Riversharks were able to jump out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as Kevin Wilson’s bases loaded walk brought in Chris Widger with the first run of the contest.  Atlantic City tied the game in the top of the seventh inning as Melvin Rosario doubled home Dario Delgado. The Riversharks rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning, but scored score only two runs to fall short. Ned Darley picked up his first win of the season for the Surf as he pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.  The Riversharks did not lose any ground in the South Division however as the Newark Bears dropped a 4-2 decision to the Bridgeport Bluefish at Bears and Eagles Stadium on Sunday.
