(Manchester, NH)- The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced on Sunday that RHP's Buddy Carlyle and Juan Padilla have been transferred to Columbus (AAA) of the International League. RHP Charlie Isaacson will join Trenton from Tampa (A) and Joe Orloski has been activated from the Disbaled List.

Carlyle had pitched six shutout innings for Trenton this season with 12 strikeouts, which was among the Eastern League leaders. The 26-year old from Bellevue, NE was signed by the Yankees in the off-season as a free-agent. He had pitched in the Kansas City Royals system in 2003 with Wichita (AA) and Omaha (AAA) compiling a 3-3 record with 3 saves. He was originally a 1996 draft pick of Cincinnati, but was traded to San Diego in 1998. He appeared with the Padres during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He spent 2001 and 2002 pitching for Hanshin of the Japan Central League.

Padilla appeared in four games for Trenton with an 0-0 record, 9.00 ERA. He was acquired by the Yankees in the Jesse Orosco trade on Aug. 31, 2003. Pitching with Minnesota's Triple-A team in Rochester, NY, Padilla was 7-4, 6 saves with a 3.36 ERA. He had 29 saves for New Britain while in the Eastern League during 2002.

Isaacson was selected by the Yankees in the 29th Round of the 2002 June Draft (Univ. of Arkansas). He appeare for three Yankees affiliates last season. Isaaacson was 3-0, 4 saves and a 0.54 ERA for Battle Creek (A). After a promotion to Tampa, he added four saves in seven games with a 2.53 ERA. he finished last season with Trenton and was 1-3, 1 save and a 6.12 ERA in 14 games.

Orloski has been in Extended Spring Training recovering from an injury. He was selected in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft on December 15, 2003. Orloski split the 2003 season with Brooklyn (R) of the New York-Penn League and Binghamton. He had a combined 3-3 record for those clubs.

Trenton finishes a series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats this afternoon at 1:05 PM. Sean Henn (0-0, 1.80) starts for Trenton against the Fishe Cats Derek Lee (0-1, 3.60).
