The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that RHP Ben Moore has been transferred from the Tampa Yankees (A) of the Florida State League and that INF/OF Andy Brown and RHP Rik Currier have been transferred to Tampa

Moore, a native of St. Croix Falls, WI, is in his second season with the Yankees organization. He was signed as a free agent on June 11, 2003. Moore has appeared in nine games for the Tampa Yankees with a 2-0 record and a 1.45 ERA. Last season, Moore was 1-0, 4.29 ERA in 16 games for Tampa and the Gulf Coast Yankees.

Currier, a product of the University of Southern California, has a 1-2 record for Trenton with a 5.12 ERA. He has appeared in eight games for the Thunder, three as a starter including yesterday’s second game of a doubleheader with New Hampshire. Currier took the loss allowing two runs on two hits in five innings with seven strikeouts. He posted a combined 5-3 record with Tampa and Trenton during the 2003 season.

Brown was the Yankees #1 selection (24th Overall) in the 1998 June Draft. The native of Richmond, IN has appeared in one game for Trenton this season. He went 0-for-1 and pitched the 9th Inning in a 16-2 loss to Akron on May 2nd. Brown allowed one run and three hits in his first pitching appearance. He had a combined .227 batting average with 8 HR and 42 RBI last season for Trenton and Tampa.

The Thunder host New Hampshire in a doubleheader tonight at 6:05 p.m. Trenton was swept in a doubleheader on Tuesday by the Fisher Cats, who currently sit in 1st Place in the Northern Division. The Thunder (14-14) is in 4th Place and is 2 ½ games behind New Hampshire.
