Thunder Fall Short in 11 Innings

The Trenton Thunder fell to the Portland Sea Dogs last night, 9-5, on Hartz Mountain Chase Bobblehead Night at Waterfront Park. Joe Kilburg had a bases-clearing double in the top half of the 11th to lead the Sea Dogs past the Thunder. Kenny Perez added an RBI single in the 11th to help seal the victory.

David Shepard (2-4) picked up the loss for the Thunder while Portland relief pitcher Eric Glaser (1-3) notched the victory. Glaser worked two shutout innings in the 10th and 11th. Trenton starter, Ramon Ramirez went 6 innings and gave up eight hits, four earned runs. Portland starter, Josh Stevens went 5 2/3 innings while scattering eight hits, three earned runs.

The Thunder came back in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game at 5. Mitch Jones led off the 8th with his 22nd homerun of the year, Jake Weber then followed with a double. With runners on the corners, Thunder SS Andy Cannizaro roped a game tying single up the middle.
