Ten Devils Named Academic All-CACC
Fall Athletes Maintain 3.50 Cumulative GPA

Ten University of the Sciences in Philadelphia student-athletes were named to the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team on Friday.

Ten University of the Sciences in Philadelphia student-athletes were named to the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team on Friday.

Qualifying from the women’s volleyball team were Emily Roth (Dallastown HS/York, PA) and Jenelle Miller (Towanda HS/Towanda, PA). Roth, a junior outside hitter, has a 3.92 GPA in USP’s Doctor of Pharmacy while Miller, a junior outside hitter, has a 3.55 GPA, also in the university’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. Roth was also a 2004 First Team All-CACC honoree for volleyball and a 2004 ESPN, The Magazine/CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District II selection.

Senior Elizabeth Hay (Hempfield HS/Landisville, PA) and sophomores Shelby Rance (Central Columbia HS/Bloomsburg, PA) and Amanda Reed (Haverford HS/Haverford, PA) represented the women’s cross country team. All three runners are in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at USP. Hay has a 3.83 cumulative GPA while Rance and Reed have GPA’s of 3.54 and 3.61 respectively. Rance was the Devils’ top finisher at the NCAA East Regionals at Indiana University (Pa.).

Representing the men’s cross country team were senior Adam Wenocur (Lower Merion HS/ Wynnewood, PA) and George Strock (Blue Mountain HS/Pottsville, PA). Wenocur has a 3.65 GPA in bioinformatics while Strock has a 3.82 GPA in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at USP.

Three members of the women’s tennis team round out the ten Devils named. Junior Kristen Hickey (West Milford HS/West Milford, NJ) has a 3.63 GPA in Occupational Therapy. Sophomore Stephanie Gabel (Academy of Allied Health and Science/ Hazlet, NJ) has a 3.80 GPA in Physical Therapy and Tara Torrone (Red Bank Catholic HS/Lincroft, NJ) has a 3.62 cumulative GPA in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
