Solid Shooting Propels Devils to a Win over Wildcats
Brattelli Scores 1,000th Point for U.S.P.

The USP men's basketball team shot 55.2% from the field in the second half, turning a close game into a 24-point win, 87-63 over CACC rival Wilmington College.

USP connected on 16 of 29 shots from the field in the period and 10 of 16 from the free throw line. Chris Brattelli (Sr., Highland Regional HS/Clementon, NJ) led the Devils with 17 points and 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Brattelli's first basket of the game, a jumper from about 14 feet at the 16:51 mark was the 1,000th point of his college career, becoming the 32nd player in school history to reach the mark.

Three other players joined Brattelli in double figures. Collin Harrington (So., Bishop Eustace HS/ Sewell, NJ) came off the bench to score 16 points. Harrington was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Gene Willard (Sr., Cardinal O'Hara HS/ Broomall, PA) and Eric Cangelosi (So., Camden Catholic HS/ Haddon Heights, NJ) each chipped in 15 points to aid the Devils cause.

USP finished the game shooting 51.7% (31-60) from the field, their second straight game over 50%. Wilmington shot 38.5% (25-65). The Devils were also 21-for-29 from the free throw line. USP won the battle of the boards, out rebounding the Wildcats 44-32.

Greg Brown led the Wildcats with 30 points.

Next up for the Devils is a road match up with CACC pre-season #1 Bloomfield College on December 9, 2004.

Brattelli Scores 1,000th Point for U.S.P.

With 16:51 remaining in the first half of tonight's game against Wilmington College, USP men's basketball player Chris Brattelli (Sr., Highland Regional HS/Clementon, NJ) made a 14-foot jumper for his third and fourth points of the game, and the 1,000th point of his college career. In reaching the 1,000-point plateau, Brattelli becomes the 32nd player in the history of the program to do so.

Brattelli entered the season with 896 career points in 77 games played. Chris has started in 70 of those games.

Currently, Chris has appeared in 84 career games for the Devils, averaging 12.1 points per game. This season, Brattelli is averaging 16.9 points per game, starting in all 7 USP games.

A former Highland Regional High School athlete, Brattelli is in his fourth and final season of play for the Devils. Chris is a Pharmaceutical Marketing/Management major at USP. He is the son of Richard and Deborah Brattelli of Clementon, New Jersey.
