Rance Named to CACC Women's Basketball Honor Roll

Philadelphia, Pa. – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women’s Basketball player Shelby Rance (Central Columbia High School/Bloomsburg, Pa.) was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for her performance for the week ending February 25, 2007.

In two games last week, Rance, a 5’8” senior, averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and four steals per game, leading the Devils to a perfect 2-0 week.

Opening the week against Georgian Court University, Rance scored a game-high 18 points and pulled down three rebounds. Rance also had two assists, a block and four steals.

Rance followed up her performance against Georgian Court with a 25-point game against Felician College, connecting on 11 of 21 shots from the field while pulling down six rebounds. Rance also had three assists and four steals.

For the week, Rance connected on 18 of 40 shots from the field (45%) and was 6-for-8 (75%) from the free throw line. The senior guard also recorded nine rebounds, five assists, eight steals and one blocked shot on the week.

The former Central Columbia High School athlete is in her fourth season of play for the Devils. Averaging 16.2 points per game as the Devils leading scorer, Rance currently ranks 6th in the CACC in scoring, is second in the league in free throw percentage (85.3%) and fifth in the league in steals (2.22/gm). Shelby is the Devils 2nd all-time leading scorer with 1,898 career points.

Rance is a pharmacy major pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
