Softball Spotlight: Monday, March 19, 2007 By Bob Heller Philadelphia, Pa. University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women’s softball player Megan Trimble was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Softball Weekly Honor Roll for her performance during the week ending March 18, 2007. Trimble (Sr., Coatesville Area HS/Coatesville, Pa.) extended her hitting streak to five games this week, getting hits in all three games that she played. The senior outfielder appeared in the Devils' second game against Drexel University on Monday, March 12th, getting two hits and a walk in three plate appearances. Trimble added two more multiple-hit games to her team leading total of five the next day. Starting in rightfield in the opener against American International College, Trimble banged out two singles in four at-bats while scoring a run. In the nightcap, Trimble, now at the designated hitter spot, had three hits while driving in two runs and scoring once. For the week, Trimble batted .700 (6-15) with two RBI and two runs scored. Trimble, a Pharmacy major pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, is in their fourth and final season of play for the Devils. Megan currently leads the Devils in batting (.393), and is tied for the team lead in hits (11) and runs batted in (5). |
