Although many veterans were missing from The 2nd Annual Camden Lynx Open Combine, there was plenty of talent to make up for it. "I am very happy with this years turnout," said Head Coach Lester Cream Jr., "This was the best display of talent of any of our previous tryouts." This was also the first time the new coaching staff was introduced to the players. Some of the players were vocal about the new staff. Edward "Butchie" Dover (3 year starting cornerback from Philadelphia) said, "I think this staff is committed to making us a better team." Also taking notice was strong safety Delvin Jones (a 3 year starter, 2003 All-American Honorable Mention recipient), "It took so long to finally get back on the field to practice, it's just the first day and the coaches are already ahead of schedule!"

Lester "Pity" Cream Jr. decided to take on two responsibilties by taking over as the Offensive Coordinator. Coach Cream had to fill two vacancies from last season. Those vacancies were filled by Stacy Johnson (quarterbacks) and Shawn Walters (receivers). Unfortunetaly, the Lynx organization had to replace last years offensive coaches. Marlon Bounds (offensive coordinator) and Craig Dickerson (linemen) both choosing to resign after the Lynx disappointing 1st round playoff loss to the Philadelphia Scorpions 35 - 17, a team they beat in the regular season 8 - 6. Howard Hollingsworth takes over as Defensive Coordinator, a promotion from linebackers coach. More coaches will be added to the staff as the Lynx organization is still taking/reviewing applications.

There was no excuse for some veteran players to miss the first day of practice. Only a handful of players contact their prespective coach to explain their absence. This is not last year, guys think they have a spot on lock down but they don't, nobody has a spot on this team yet," said Cream when asked about missing players, "We have a bunch of talented players trying to make this team, that doesn't include the guys who told me they couldn't make the combine."

The Lynx next practice will be at Woodrow Wilson High on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30p sharp. Players uniform: Lynx combine t-shirt, black shorts or sweats, sneakers and cleats.
