From start to finish, the girl’s basketball team from Absegami High School was in complete control of their match up with Notre Dame. The two teams were competing in the Shootout at the Shore, which the Lady Braves were continuing to display their talents on the basketball court. Already the Lady Braves have clinched a spot for the playoffs and were sitting in first place in the Cape-Atlantic Conference American Division I. With a balance attack, Absegami rolled past Notre Dame posting a 49-31 victory.

Absegami (17-1) were able to control both ends of the court with Shantae Barnes crashing the boards. Add the interior talents from Lindsay McCarthy and Kristina Rosario, the Braves were on cruise control leading at the half by a 21-14 margin. Absegami came out of the locker room for the second half and opened a lead that Notre Dame could not overcome. Kara Ayers and Shantae Barnes lead the attack for Absegami with 11 points apiece. Notre Dame got 7 points from Corinne Campbell.
