Audubon Rules Colonial Conference With Win Over Sterling

So far this season, one of the softball teams from Audubon and Sterling high school has taken total control of their abilities to play as a unit to achieve their objectives. With seven of their ten game winning streak, the ladies from Audubon has shut down their opponents’ offense holding them scoreless. Sterling would not be another statistic to the Green Wave’s shutout success as they were able to tie this game at one all after two innings. But Amanda Brown would come through with the game winning hit for Audubon to extend their winning streak to ten games with their 5-1 victory against Sterling.

The top two teams from the Colonial Conference went head to head with both teams looking to extend their winning streak. Audubon wasn’t the only team rolling through their schedule with wins. Sterling had compiled together a four game winning streak and was looking to extend it to five with a win over the undefeated Lady Green Wave from Audubon.

Audubon got on the scoreboard in the first inning against starting pitcher Stephanie Skroski. Sterling was able to do what most teams were not able to do against Kiersten Hughes. The Lady Knights tied the game a one all during their top half of the second inning. After that run, Hughes settled down behind the defense keeping Sterling off the scoreboard for the remainder of this game. Audubon would score two go ahead runs during the fourth inning on a double from the bat of Brown. That was enough runs for Hughes as Audubon captured this key conference win.
