High School Softball:
Hughes Picks Up another Win for Audubon

Friday, May 14, 2004

Both of these teams in today's Colonial Conference softball game had achieved their first goal of the season and that was to play above average softball to qualify for the playoffs. For Haddon Heights and Audubon that goal had been achieved. For Audubon, every win counts when trying to keep pace with Haddonfield and Sterling for the conference title. Audubon did not waste anytime putting runs on their side of the scoreboard. Giving starting pitcher Kiersten Hughes enough runs to pick up the victory early, Audubon cruised to a 6-0 win over Haddon Heights.

The Green Wave were winning those games they needed down the stretch. Putting together a four game winning streak seemed to provide enough confidence to take on the Lady Dawgs from Haddonfield. But for the second time this season, Audubon was defeated them by the slimmest of margins. Looking to rebound from their 1-0 loss, Audubon quickly score runs against Haddon Heights to start another winning streak.
