Lindenwold Holds Off Audubon For Victory

After leading 20-0 in the first half, the Lindenwold Lions held off a surge by the Green Wave of Audubon in the third quarter to take home the 20-12 victory. Lindenwold's quarterback, sophomore Ricky Pisaturo, threw touchdown passes of 37 and 57 yards to lead the Lions' offense.

Neither team was able to do anything in the first quarter, but the Lions definitely owned the second. Pisaturo first found Nate Wyche for a 37-yard touchdown pass. Their next possession ended with a 4-yard run by Javon Turner to put the Lions up 12-0 (both conversion attempts failed). Then Pisaturo hooked up with Jordy Wilson for 57 yards and the Lions third straight score. A short pass to Ryan Donahue for the two-point conversion addded the icing to the Lions first half.

But the Green Wave was not finished yet. In the third quarter John McCloskey got Audubon started with a 22-yard touchdown run. The Green Wave crept a little closer when Anthony Lombardo scored on a 1-yard run. The the Lions' defense hunkered down and held on for the win.

It would seem that Lindenwold (2-2) prefers to play in the daylight, as both of their losses have come at night, while their wins have come in day games. Their next game is a long trek to North Jersey to play North Warren next Friday night. Audubon (0-4) is home next Saturday versus Woodbury.
