Audubon got a chance to acknowledge their seniors for all of their contributions and hard work they have demonstrated for the girl’s basketball program. The season has been a tough one for those not positioned at the top of the Colonial Conference. The Lady Gators would travel to Audubon to play in their next to the last game of their season. After a very close first quarter, Audubon would pull away to pick up the victory by a 54-26 margin.
Gateway only trailed this game by two points after the first quarter, but the Green Wave’s defense prevented the Gators from getting the ball inside. Audubon took full advantage of their opportunities by doubling up Gateway’s point total in the second quarter to take a 26-16 lead at the break. The second half was all Audubon as they would wrap up their season at home with a win. Maggie Gies finished with a game high 13 points, Melissa Baumgartner added 12 and Jenna Whylings added 12 points for Audubon. Gateway was led by Lucy Straub who finished with 7 points.
