It’s the start of a new season for those who qualified for the sectional group tournament. The life of living through a bracket which determines your seeding and who you will compete against is somewhat first on your mind. Well an interesting match-up between the eighth and ninth seeded teams always provides a competitive event especially during the playoffs. Haddon Heights would be the traveling team looking to advance to the next round against Audubon. The Lady Garnets would be that team moving on as they defeated Audubon by a 2-0 score. Haddon Heights will now travel to Haddonfield who are the number one seeded team in the South Jersey Group II tournament.
Audubon and Haddon Heights had played each other just several days ago which proved to be a measuring stick. During that game, Audubon defeated Haddon Heights in overtime and it looked to be another classic battle on the field. This time, the Lady Garnets got on the scoreboard first when Bridget Roney deposited the ball into the net for Heights. Another goal by Meredith Kennedy pushed the Garnets lead to a point that Audubon would not be able to recover. Lisa Benedetti would earn the shutout for Haddon Heights in goal.
