Falcons Overwhelm Greyhounds

The Greyhounds of Northern Burlington went into this basketball game knowing they were huge underdogs. Waiting for them were the Falcons of Burlington Township and their impressive start during the 1999-2000 boy's basketball season. Township had five players scoring double digits as they sent the Greyhounds home with a 94-28 Falcon victory.

The game started out with Kaneal Shuler setting the fast pace tempo by bringing the ball up court for Township. With Shuler setting up the options or draining the jumper, the Falcons starters each contributed at least a basket in jumping out to a 23-3 first quarter lead. The Greyhounds would final hit from the field with forty-eight seconds remaining in the quarter.

Anthony Bronner would be the man in the second quarter as he accounted for half the Falcons points. Bronner shot an excellent 9 for 9 from the free throw line and the team shot ninety-four percent in the quarter. Township led at the half 53-7.

The remaining of the game was no different, as Township rolled all over their Burlington neighbors. Bronner led all scores with 21 points, Tim Harris 17 points, Shuler with 14, Taj Payton 11 and Earl Fulton added 10 points.
