Camden Catholic found a way to win their South Jersey Parochial A playoff game against Holy Cross. The Irish took advantage of every mistake their opponent gave them to produce the runs they needed. Jonathan George found the command on his pitches and struck out 14 batters in route to Camden Catholic's 6-3 win in a quarterfinals matchup against the Lancers from Holy Cross.

The South Jersey Parochial A bracket was loaded with teams which any of them had the chance of capturing the title. From the number one seeded Holy Spirit right down to the eight seeded Paul VI, each could put together a complete game and make it to the finals. Today, the third seed Irish from Camden Catholic were hosting the sixth seeded Lancers from Holy Cross.

Camden Catholic jumped out to a 2-0 lead when Keith Heck scored an unearned run and Fran Murphy knocked in the second run of the third inning.

George had the fastball and his second pitch, the curve ball, working throughout this whole game. Half of his six strikeouts through the first 3 innings were called third strikes freezing the batter. Matt Fratantoro found an answer in the top of the fourth inning when he nailed a 1-0 pitch to dead centerfield for a two run homer. Mike Rowland would score in front of Fratantoro tying this game at two apiece.

The Irish pulled away for good when they scored two runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth inning. Joe Bagocius, Dave Vaccaro and Keith Heck put together back-to-back-to-back hits accounting for the insurance runs scored in the sixth inning to give Jonathan George the win for Camden Catholic.
