It’'s always nice to see a new sport in our area gain interest whether or not the team has the experienced players to lead them. For the first year boy's lacrosse team from Holy Cross, each game can be looked at as another "lesson learned". Today's match up against the second year Camden Catholic team served as a game they should have won on paper only because of the number of times they have played together as a team. The Irish would use that experience and picked up their third win in a row by defeating Holy Cross 12-4.

With St. Augustine and New Egypt representing the Olympic Conference National Division as two of the experience teams, Camden Catholic and Holy Cross would have play above and beyond the expectations others have set out for them. The Irish has been the team surprise some with the quick start they have had this young season. After losing their season opener to Shawnee, they have defeated Holy Cross and Lenape setting up another showdown with the Lancers this time on their home field.

Stepping up as one of the leaders, Shane Whipkey found success scoring goals in both halves against Holy Cross. Whipkey netted 6 goals during the game and Colin Donato scored 5 times leading the way for Camden Catholic. Holy Cross’ Roy Vinay scored 3 times during the loss.
