High School Softball:
Tenth Inning Run Pushes Camden Catholic Past Kingsway

For seven full innings, this game just could not be decided as neither team was able to score. Starting pitchers Alyssa O'Connell for Camden Catholic and Jamie Minix for Kingsway were able to rely on their defenses helping them preserve the scoreless tie after regulation. The Lady Dragons appeared to take advantage of a situation that resulted in two runs during the eighth inning, but Camden Catholic would respond to extend this game even further into extra innings. Finally with a runner in scoring position during the bottom of the tenth inning, Shannon Morlock single scored the deciding run to defeat Kingsway by a 3-2 margin.

It had been a very tough stretch of games for the Lady Irish from Camden Catholic. After starting the season with four straight wins, three of their last four games were decided by one run. During each of those one run decisions, all three of those losses were to teams from their conference and only one was from their division. So when Kingsway paid them a visit from the Tri-County Conference, it would be another test that would be decided by a single run.

Camden Catholic would keep the pressure on the Dragons' defense all game long but just could not score a run against Minix. Kingsway seem to have figured out a way to get past O'Connell during the top half of the eighth inning. Kingsway would score two runs on a wild pitch scoring not one but two runs to take a 2-0 lead. The Irish would come down to their final out when Angelina Bisbiglia's two run home run tied this game. Two innings later, Morlock game through with the game winning single for Camden Catholic.
