Talking about a tough battle in the trenches, the game between Shawnee Renegades and the Cherokee Chiefs was a hard hitting affair. Both teams saw players go off the field with injuries. The Chiefs came out to be the team with the victory. Doug Easlick was very successful running the ball in the Chiefs 21-7 victory over the Renegades.

From the beginning of this game, each team could not gain the offensive edge. The defenses held their ground and neither team could put any points on the board in the initial quarter. Cherokee's Doug Easlick used the holes the offensive line created to open the scoring in the second quarter. He finally got his team on the board with a one-yard run to give the Chiefs a 7-0 lead. That was also the half time score.

These two Olympic Conference rivals were very familiar with one another, so any lead could not be safe. In the third quarter, the Renegades struck early. Quarterback Mike Connelly found Mike Glover open for a 75-yard touchdown reception to tie the game. But Cherokee's offensive line continued to give the running game some room to run. The Chiefs took the lead when quarterback Chris Spina completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Devece to go ahead 14-7.

The stifling Chiefs' defense dominated the rest of the game. Cherokee put the game away when Easlick scored his second touchdown with a 8-yard run. The Chiefs increased their record to 7-1 while Shawnee fell to 5-3.
