High School Boys Volleyball:
Cherry Hill East Serves Victory Against Sterling

Thursday, April 8, 1999

It's early in the season, but it looks like Cherry Hill East will once again be the dominant team in the South Jersey Boy's Volleyball League and may go all the way to an unprecedented 4th state title in a row! Coach Karl Moehlmann has a team at East that has the talent to remain competitive for years to come. East had little problems putting away the Sterling Silver Knights in two straight games (15-4, 15-4).

The Cougars were overpowering over the visiting Silver Knights. Matt Minoff's jump serve was too much for Sterling to handle. With those service points and the leadership and play of Tim Roche, who led the way for Cherry Hill with his well-rounded play. Pat O'Brien and Nick Rebecca were standouts for the visiting Knights. The Cherry Hill East Junior Varsity squad also won in two straight games 15-1, 15-1.
