This was one of those games that both Cherry Hill East and Eastern needed to assure themselves a position in the 2003 South Jersey Group IV playoffs. Both teams are right on the bubble of advancing to the post season, but they chances looked good with a strong finish with cutoff date just a couple of days away. Kofi Dwebeng had all intensions of getting the Vikings into the playoffs as his play help Eastern get past the Cougars by a score of 61-40. Eastern jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.

This was their second meeting of the season with Eastern winning the game in overtime on their home court. Cherry Hill East was looking to turn the tables, as they were the ones playing host and looking for the advantage. The Vikings would set the tone early as they took away the home court advantage jumping out to a double-digit lead. East would find themselves down 31-20 at halftime.

The second half proved to be the deciding eight minutes as Ruben Britt was able to find his way toward the basket. The Vikings defense picked up with Theodie Peterson and Chris LaVoice getting into the action and helping to open up their largest lead of the game. Eastern would have little problems the rest of the way to win this contest. Kofi Dwebeng recorded a game high 23 points, Ruben Britt added 19 points and Bryan Smothers dropped in 12 points for the Vikings. Cherry Hill East had a balance attack and was led by George Keels.
