Jay Fitcher and Louis Stomel each had a hat trick as Cherry Hill East defeated Paul VI 9-2 to remain undefeated in Tier 2 play. Paul VI took a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game as Mike DeGennaro was left all alone in front and the Eagles had the early lead. But Kevin Desrochers' power play goal tied the score at 1-1 when he came over the blue line and blasted a shot that found the back of the net. Less than one-minute later, Brian Buck put home a rebound after Stomel was stopped to put Cherry Hill up 2-1 heading into the second period.

Two quick goals in the first 2 minutes of the second period increased East's lead to 4-1. Fitcher would score on the power play, then Stomel was allowed to circle the net and his shot through a screen found the net. Rich Ferro netted a power play goal for Paul VI midway through the period to give the Eagles some life, but two late goals, one by Stomel and the other by Mike Danyo, put the game out of reach at 6-2. Goals by Stomel and two by Fitcher in the third period closed out the scoring.
