Before the largest crowd ever to witness JV games in the SJHSIHL, fans piled into the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Sunday March 3rd and they weren't disappointed as Cherry Hill West defeated Cherokee 5-2 to win the JVB Championship. After a scoreless first period with both goalies playing solidly to keep the game scoreless, Jim Markowitz gave Cherokee a brief 1-0 lead but West tied the score as A.J. Ford scored in the closing seconds of the second period.

Five minutes into the third West took a 2-1 lead as Chris Stevenson found the net, but seconds later Mike Garofala tied the score for Cherokee at 2-2. West responded as they kept the pressure on Cherokee goalie Eric Cohen, totaling eighteen shots in the period. Andrew Maggio scored the eventual game winner with just over six minutes remaining to give West a 3-2 lead. Matt McGowan added some insurance on the power play with two minutes left and Jon Lynch added an empty net goal to seal the 5-2 win. Stevenson was the offensive star totaling one goal and three assists. Congratulations to Coach Troendle, his players and staff. And to Dom and Cathy Bono for their years of hard work.
