Cherry Hill West scored two short-handed goals late in the second period to snap a 3-3 tie as they defeated Delran 5-4 on Friday night at Hollydell. Mike Pelliccione led West with two goals and an assist. Chris Mirabella paced the Delran attack with two goals and an assist. After a first period that saw West dominate in shots 15-5, but trail in goals 3-2. West finally tied the score at 3-3 midway through the second period as Matt Magowan after jamming at the puck a few times, slid home his own rebound.

The game turned at the five minute mark with Delran on the power play with West keeping the puck in the Delran zone. Sean Rainey after picking off an errant pass in the slot, scored to give West a 4-3 lead. With the period winding down, again with Delran on the power play, West controlled the puck and Pelliccione lifted a back-hander just under the crossbar to increase the lead to 5-3 after two periods. With his team being out shot 29-8 through two periods, Delran net minder Dave Hermansky's solid play kept his team close. After a Mirabella goal made it 5-4 with eleven minutes left in the game, Delran could never get the equalizer despite hitting the post a few times.
