Cinnaminson rallied from a 3-0 deficit and defeated Paul VI 5-4, capping the rally with a goal in the final twenty seven seconds of the game. Cinnaminson got two goals each from Longo and Schmid, including the game winner. Paul VI opened the scoring as Rich Ferro flew off the bench during a line change and scored on a breakaway, picking the top corner, for a 1-0 lead. Later in the period, Brett Balco broke in with Zak Booth and after drawing the defenseman over, Balco slid the puck to Booth who wasted little time in one-timing the puck into the net and Paul VI led 2-0 after one period.

Balco used his speed again in the second period creating a scoring opportunity, as he busted right up the middle and his quick shot made it 3-0. Seconds later, however, Schmid, another speedster skating on Cinnaminson, was sent in on a break by Longo and was able to slide the puck through the five hole giving the Pirates life at 3-1. Five minutes later, Schmid found Longo cruising in the slot and his wrist shot beat Eric Lake to cut the lead to 3-2. Penalties would hurt Paul VI, as Cinnaminson scored two power play goals, one by Verano and Schmid’s second and the Pirates now led 4-3. Peter Antinnore would tie the game at 4-4 with about ten minutes left in the game. However, Longo’s heroics would help the Pirates escape with the win.
