Gunnar Fox had his hand in on all the scoring as Clearview shut out Shawnee 7-0 in Tier 1 action in the SJHSIHL. Fox had four goals and three assists, Dave Gooch added two goals and John Probe had a goal and two assists as Clearview looks to be hitting its stride as the playoffs near. Fox scored the only goal of the first period going end-to-end after receiving the puck from goalie Jason Brown.

Shawnee goalie Jeff Sutphin was spectacular in the first period as he stoned Gooch and Fox on breakaways and saw his team out shot 11-4. Sutphin continued his strong play as he stoned Wyatt Fox on a breakaway early in the second period. Gunnar made it 2-0 when Sutphin gambled on a loose puck, he tried to beat Fox to the puck, but Fox intercepted the clearing pass and deposited the puck into the empty net. Thirty seconds later Fox made it 3-0 as he picked up a loose puck in the slot and his wrist shot beat Sutphin. Shawnee would only generate two shots on net and went into the third trailing 3-0.

Clearview put the game away early in the third period scoring two goals in thirty-eight seconds. First Probe was sent in on a great pass from Fox and despite being held, slid the puck along the ice to make it 4-0. Fox then set-up Gooch in the slot and his quick blast made it 5-0. Fox scored his fourth goal with just over seven minutes remaining as Sam Valora fed him in the slot. Fox went top shelf to beat Sutphin and make it 6-0. Gooch added a meaningless power play goal with eighteen seconds left as Clearview chose to put its first unit on the ice. Clearview seems to be ready for their playoff run as they have played their best hockey over the last four periods, going back to Friday's third period against Township and this game.
