Sterling Starts New Season with a Win

It was the start of the season that every team is trying to achieve. Winning the opening day game whether on the road or at home seem to motivate the entire team into believing that the coaching staff’s game plan has a new meaning. Collingswood was playing host to the Silver Knights from Sterling, but on this day the visiting team would walk away with the victory. Playing in a Colonial Conference boy’s soccer game, Sterling used four different players to post a 4-0 win.

Both teams benefit from playing that first game of the season. Winning or losing is a learning experience that gives both teams room to grow. And then it is back to that familiar place called practice. For Sterling, Dan Camburn was in the right place at the right time when his chance of coming up with the save came his way. The offense would receive goals from Mike Consiglio, Dom Glambarco, Shane McGrory and Mark Thompson. Next up for Sterling is a trip to Gateway.
