High School Boys Volleyball:
Eastern Drops Match to Bridgewater-Raritan

The 1999 Boy's Volleyball season got underway on Saturday when Eastern High School hosted Bridgewater-Raritan in an Olympic Conference meeting. Both these teams were considered evenly matched. Eastern and Bridgewater were both listed in the pre-season's top 10 (Eastern was #7 and Bridgewater #5). Bridgewater would win the best of three match in two games, 15-6 and 15-6.

The score was not indicative of the play. It was a well-played match. Eastern is currently without the services of their top player Matt Snyder, who is nursing an injury incurred during the basketball season. The Vikings definitely missed his presence. Coach Tom Armour indicates that he (Snyder) should be back in action in two weeks! If that's the case, Snyder should be ready for the Viking Invitational Tournament scheduled for April 17th at Eastern High School.
