Danny Meyers stopped 34 shots and Sean Sullivan scored two goals as Eastern rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Cherokee 3-2 in Tier 1 action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. After a scoreless first period that saw Cherokee out-shoot Eastern 10-5, Tim Missel dug the puck out from the corner and fed Tom Conner in front. His quick shot beat Meyers to the short side and Cherokee led 1-0 twenty seconds into the second period. With the Eastern offense struggling to generate scoring chances, Meyers kept his team in the game. At the ten- minute mark Cherokee's Connelly broke in alone and after Meyers stoned him, Dan Altieri deposited the rebound and Cherokee led 2-0. Eastern did not get their first shot of the period until the seven-forty mark but it resulted in a goal.

Sullivan flew down the left side and his cross-ice pass found Anthony Orner along the side of the net and his one-timer found the net and Eastern cut the lead to 2-1. The game turned with Cherokee having a two-man advantage for almost the two full minutes and the opportunity to increase their lead. After Meyers stoned Altieri at point blank range, Sullivan poke checked the puck by the defenseman at the point and broke in alone. Moving quickly from his forehand to his backhand Sullivan beat Sabol to tie the score at 2-2. Despite being out-shot 25-9 through two periods, the score was tied at 2-2.

The game winner was set-up by pure hustle by Orner, who broke down the right side and after having the puck poked off his stick, chased it into the corner and he found Sullivan in the slot. His wrist-shot beat Sabol and Eastern led 3-2. Despite pulling the goalie in the games final minute, Meyers stopped everything thrown at him in this probable semi-final preview.
