Dan Drazen had a hat trick and Dan Weaver and Rich Smith added two goals apiece as Eastern pulled away from Delran 10-3 in Tier 2 action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Monday night. Brian Caputo led Delran with two goals. The first period saw each team score twice, Weaver and Smith for Eastern, Caputo and Tom Travaglini for Delran. Despite being out-shot 16-8, Delran was still in the game at 2-2. After Weaver gave Eastern a 3-2 lead early in the period, the turning point came when Eastern was down a man and Delran controlled the puck in the Vikings zone for almost the full two minutes and generated eight shots. However, Zach Fayer stopped all eight shots to keep his team ahead by one goal and over the next five minutes, Eastern would score five goals.

First Drazen scored two goals in a seven second span, one on a breakaway and the second right off the center ice face-off and suddenly it was 5-2. Goals by Ken Dutton, Smith and Drazen again sealed the game for Eastern and should give them confidence heading into next weeks game against West Deptford. Derrick Schemmel and Kyle Koehl added goals in the third period for Eastern to close out the scoring.
