After not qualifying for the State tournament, the Edgewood field hockey team wanted to prove themselves the last two games of the season.

The last home game for the Eagles took place on Monday, October 26th vs. St. Joe's. All 14 seniors participated in the game. At half time, Coach Sharon Mauriello introduced the senior members to the crowd. The Senior members are, Nicole Zvanya, Niralee Shah, Diane Beirne, Michael-Lin Tronco, Michelle Duffy, Jenn Stamper, Nicole Harrell, Amber Gregori, Beckie Goobic, Lisa Mohrmann, Stacey Leary, Ali Pires, Krystall McErlain (photo's for the article) and Pam Gargano (writer of many articles). The seniors received this ceremony with great appreciation, and tears. The Eagles won the game 1-0. Senior Nicole Harrell scored the goal (her first of the year) on a beautiful set-up by senior Michelle Duffy.

The final game took place the following day vs. a strong Cherokee team. The Eagles came out on fire, dominating the first half. Junior Karin "goal scorer" Rainy scored on a cross pass by Senior Nicole Harrell. With steady defensive play, Edgewood won their final game of the season 1-0. Senior goalie Lisa Mohrmann, recorded her 7th shut-out of the season.

Although the team did not do as well as expected, they still fought hard and had a lot of fun. The 14 seniors are all great friends and will always cherish their field hockey memories.

South Jersey Sports Online and I (Pam Gargano) wish all the seniors the best of luck in the future. Always remember your time spent together over the years.

GOOD LUCK CLASS OF '99
AND TO ALL UNDERCLASSMEN
