High School Track & Field: Saturday, May 8, 1999
By Bob Ayers Congratulations to the Edgewood Girl's Track Team for winning the Large School Division at the Camden County Meet. Scoring points for the team were: Miriam Smith, 5th place in the javelin. Tina Gill, 2nd place in the shot put, 6th place in the discus. Kierra Clemons, 2nd place in the long jump with a personal best of 17 feet 1 1/4 inches, 3rd place in the high jump with a personal best of 5 feet 2 inches, and 4th in the 100 meter high hurdles. Y'vette Murry, 2nd place 100 meter hurdles, 2nd place 400 meter hurdles and ran on the 4x400 team which placed first. Tennille Payne, 6th place in the high jump and ran on the 4x400 team which placed first. Pam Richardson broke the meet record which she set last year in the 400 hurdles and placed first by running a time which ranks her 2nd in New Jersey, and ran on the 4x400 team which placed first. Saudia Saleem, won the 400, placed 4th in the 200 and ran on the 4x400 team which placed first. Both Pam Richardson and Saudia Saleem are Camden County Champions for 1999. Saudia received an award for running the fastest 400 time of the day. The 4x400 team of Y'vette Murry, Pam Richardson, Tennille Payne and Saudia Saleem broke the meet record and our school record by running a time of 3:56.2. They are ranked 3rd in New Jersey.
