High School Tennis:
Bragging Rights In The Mack Family

Looking at the ladies tennis schedule, most people would note the matchup of Edgewood vs. Palmyra as a standout. But to our surprise this was a match for the bragging rights of the Mack Family.

The head coaches from the two teams are brothers. Edgewood's coach is Mr. Jeff Mack and Palmyra's coach is Mr. John Mack. Also, we found out that Edgewood Coach Mack's niece is a player for the Palmyra Panthers.

Last year, John Mack of Palmyra won the bragging rights, but this year it goes back to Jeff Mack of Edgewood. The Edgewood Eagles defeated the Palmyra Panthers by a score of 5-0.

This was the fourth win of the season for the very young Eagles team. The starting line-ups for the 4-2 Eagles are all underclassmen:

First Singles	Alex Switenko (Freshman)
Second Singles	Erin Riley/Co-Captain (Sophomore)
Third Singles	Kristin Wolf (Sophomore)
First Doubles	Jennifer Cooper (Sophomore) Andrea Johnson/Co-Captain (Sophomore)
Second Doubles	Cass Young (Sophomore) Beth Chisholm (Sophomore)

Edgewood's other wins this season were against Camden, Woodrow Wilson, and Pennsauken. Their losses were to Paul VI and Bishop Eustace.

Despite their youth, the Edgewood Ladies Tennis team hopes to make the State Tournament this year.
