For fourteen straight innings, the Pirates from Cinnaminson battled the Lady Hawks from Haddon Township in the first round of the South Jersey Group 2 playoffs. After watching batter after batter approach the plate in extra innings, both teams were eager to get that one base runner in scoring position to end this scoreless game. Finally in the bottom of the 14th inning, Ashley Olt scored from second base when Alialen Fallon lined to single up the middle to send the Lady Hawks to the next round of the playoffs.

It was a site to see as both teams had their supporting fans lining up to rout for the favorite team. But what they didn't expect was to be at this game for an extended period of time. Most were worried about being home in time for dinner or just tired of being at in the unusual cool temperatures right before the Memorial Day weekend. The players didn't mind seeing their team hold their opponent off the scoreboard as their team on the field played solid defense.

Both starting pitchers in this game went the distance in this all important playoff match up hosted by the Lady Hawks from Haddon Township. The tenth seeded Pirates did not let Haddon Township walk all over them in this game. They were able to line several balls that the Hawks' defense would come up big. Alialen Fallon game up big on several plays in the left field during the extra innings to keep the would-be runner off the bases.

Finally in the bottom of the 14th inning, Malissa Williams was patient at the plate and drew a base on ball with one out. Fallon grounded a single to put runners at first and second to put a runner in scoring position. With the support of the Hawks fans cheering on, they watched the next batter swing through a third strike setting up the table for Ashley Olt. With the defense not drawing in the outfield, Olt grounded a pitch up the middle that allowed Williams to round third base and slide in at home safely for the winning run.
