Gloucester Catholic's Early Runs Enough against Highland

The Lady Rams from Gloucester Catholic has started out the season with two exciting games against very good teams. Starting pitcher Brittney Carosia had to battle Nicole Ayres and the Deptford Spartans on Monday and today's game was against Amanda Branco and the Highland Tartans. A dramatic come from behind victory during the bottom of the seventh inning against Deptford gave the Rams the opening day victory. This time, Gloucester Catholic would give Carosia a two run lead early and the Rams would pick up the 3-1 victory in a Tri-County Conference Royal Division softball game.

Knowing that no lead is safe always builds confidence on a team. Trailing by two runs on Monday against Deptford heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rams needed one run to tie, two runs to win. Well the Rams scored those two runs to pick up the victory at home. Against Highland, Gloucester Catholic stored two runs during their first at bat. Carosia would stand up to the challenge of holding off Highland. Gloucester Catholic would push their lead to 3-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Highland would avoid the shutout by scoring a run, but Gloucester Catholic would pick up their second win in a row to start the season.
