High School Ice Hockey:
Salvatore Saves the Day for Highland

Nick Salvatore stopped all thirty shots he faced and Mike Harmon scored his first goal of the season early in the third period as Highland edged Neumann 1-0 in Tier 2 action played at Hollydell. With both teams struggling offensively this year, Neumann is averaging two goals per game and Highland just over three, the game figured to be a defensive battle.

Neumann carried the play for most of the first period, thanks in part to the power play as six of the seven penalties called were against Highland. But Salvatore made several huge saves and kept Highland in the game. After a scoreless second period, Harmon scored the only goal of the game on a feed from Jimmy Zuest and Frank Vannoni. Salvatore made that goal stand and Highland had its second win of the year.
