St. John Neumann scored four goals in the third period to break open a close game and defeat Holy Cross 7-3 in a Tier 2 game played at Hollydell on Friday night. Eddie Marker led Neumann with two goals and three assists and Dom Fratangeli chipped in a goal and two assists. Neumann took a 1-0 lead on the power play as Marker broke down the left side and fed Ken Sarkioglu who deposited the puck into a wide open net. Midway through the period, Silvio Illisco made it 2-0 on a feed from Jim McKissick and Neumann seemed in control. But a late penalty gave Holy Cross a power play and they converted with DiNoia scoring in the last minute to make it 2-1.

It stayed that way until the seven minute mark of the second period, when again on the power play Holy Cross tied the score at 2-2 as Mark Potosky converted a pass from his brother Ryan. Two minutes later Holy Cross again had the man advantage, but this time Marker used his speed and broke in all alone and his short-handed goal gave Neumann the lead at 3-2 heading into the third period. Fratangeli scored early in the third to make it 4-2. A few minutes later Marker dug the puck out from the corner and fed Chris Gagliardi in the slot and his quick shot found the back of the net and it was 5-2. Marker and Ted Jenkins added goals and a late goal by Ryan Potosky closed out the scoring at 7-3.
