High School Softball:
New Egypt Cruises Quickly Past Medford Tech

It was brought to our attention that there were a few athletic programs that were not getting much coverage especially when a team is doing well. The Lady Warriors from New Egypt have been doing so with their schedule put in front of them. In a divisional game played at Medford Tech, New Egypt batted around during their first at bat that sent a message for the rest of the game. When the shorten five inning game was completed, the Warriors posted a 20-0 shutout extending their winning streak to five games in a row.

Last year New Egypt captured the Burlington County Freedom Division winning every divisional game on their schedule posting an overall 18-8 record. As a third seed in last year’s South Jersey Group 1 playoffs, the Warriors lost in the semi-finals by one run to Gloucester City who eventually won the title. With that much success in their division, the Warriors have been averaging around nine runs a game.

The bats came alive again for the second time this season against the Lady Jaguars. Scoring eleven runs in the first inning was more than enough for starting pitcher Shannon Houston to pick up the win. Brittany Kennedy and Jessie Quatrone each tripled in the game while adding five doubles to end this game in five innings.
