Moorestown Takes Playoff Meeting Against Bishop Ahr

The first round of the South Jersey Group 2 playoffs began at Moorestown High School were the sixth seeded Lady Quakers were hosting the eleventh seeded Bishop Ahr. Moorestown got a quick start in the first game of this match, but finally put away their opponent to win the match in two games. Rachel Johnston had five service points and 14 assists, Kerry Krauss came up big defensively and Jill DiMedio had five service points, six kills, and three blocks.

Moorestown came out strong in the first game. Outside hitter Cortney Wallace had 3 kills and two serving aces. Middle hitter Mary Catherine McGinley had one kill. Defensive player, Kerry Krauss was a key factor in keeping Bishop Ahr's score to only 3. Final score 15-3 Moorestown.

In the second game Moorestown struggled with their passing game, particularly their serve receive. Keeping the pace was Lindsay Smith who had two serving aces and a kill. Setter, Rachel Johnston, with many assists throughout both games, also had two kills in the second game. Both teams seamed evenly matched at 11-11. Moorestown had a key block in the middle by Collete Blankenship. Final score 15-12 Moorestown.
