As we approach the end of the summer season, the girls' regular tennis season is just at its mid-session for the year. Today, during this sunny afternoon here at the Moorestown High School, the ladies 1st, 2nd, and 3rd singles matches as well as the 1st and 2nd doubles matches were in progress. The Moorestown High School Quakers played against the Holy Cross High School Lancers. This year, Holy Cross had just acquired ten new members into their tennis team. Although Holy Cross played their best, but were perhaps a bit less experienced, the Quakers were able to top the Lancers by 5-0.
The first singles match was between Sarah Huah (Moorestown) vs. Dina DiTaranto (Holy Cross) (6-0, 6-0). Both DiTaranto and Huah felt good going into the game. Before the match, DiTaranto had said she felt a bit nervous, and felt that her strokes were pretty good. After the match, DiTaranto had said that, "I was pretty ready, but Sarah was a really good player...it was a really good chance [for me] playing with her." She felt that in order to improve her game, she needed to work on her placement shots, serves, and returning the ball. DiTaranto has played last year in the 2nd singles for Holy Cross. This is her first time playing 1st singles. Huah felt very confident throughout the game. Everything was going well for her. The only thing she could think of before the game was to improve upon her footwork. After the game, Huah thought that DiTaranto was "a nice player [and had played] a tough match." After playing against DiTaranto, Huah knew she had to make some adjustments that included more spins on her shots, and being more patient during her games.
The rest of the match results are as follows:
No. 1 Doubles
No. 2 Doubles
