Dustin Isbert, Jared Brasten and Zac Booth each scored two goals, as Paul VI cruised by Highland 10-6, in SJHSIHL action at the Skate Zone in Voorhees. With the game tied at 1-1 after the first period on goals by Isbert and Highland’s Sabato, Paul VI took control scoring six times in the middle stanza. The first goal coming after goalie Jimmy Childs made a great save on a breakaway, Brett Balco broke in with Isbert on a 2-on-1 and after drawing the defenseman over, slid the puck to Isbert who buried the shot for a 2-1 lead.

Goals by Peter Antinore and Booth ten seconds apart seemed to deflate Highland and sparked Paul VI as they now led 4-1. Two goals by Brasten and one by Mike DiGennaro late in the period put Paul VI up 7-1 and with Childs playing solid in nets, the lead looked safe. Highland made some noise in the third period as two goals by Trapani and one by Varano and Halliday brought them closer by goals by Booth. Brandon Rowan and a power play goal by Balco sealed the deal. Paul VI has proved they can score goals, but against the stronger teams, they will need to play solid defense if they want to be successful.
