Gotta enjoy the traditions and rivalry that goes on in South Jersey sports. Each team prepares themselves to participate in that game that has been marked on the calendar. In Mount Holly, the Rancocas Valley Red Devils hosted the Holy Cross Lancers in a Liberty Division softball game. After an exciting first inning, the Red Devils took a lead that they never lost to defeat Holy Cross 9-3.

Holy Cross got two runners in scoring position when Brandi Carnivale picked up two runs batted in when she singled. The Red Devils didn't waste any time getting back those runs when they took advantage of a few mistakes by their opponent. Rancocas left the inning with a 4-2 lead. Starting pitcher Denise Bozenski kept Holy Cross in check for the rest of the game. The Lancers had an opportunity to make the game close in the fourth inning, but Bozenski got out of the inning by giving up just one run.

Rancocas Valley increased their record to 2-0 behind the pitching of Bozenski (2-0) and the batting from Mara Shainheit, Megan Hutchinson and Clarke. Holy Cross evened their record to 1-1.
