Eric Boehm scored with less than three minutes remaining in the game, as Rancocas Valley upset Collingswood 3-2 in a tier two SJHSIHL game played at Hollydell on Friday. Collingswood took the lead as they scored right after a power-play expired, as Smitley scored with Eric Sooy assisting. That was the only goal of the first period, as both teams played it close to the vest and played solid defense, each waiting for the other to make a mistake.

With just over nine minutes left in the second period, Gary Miller would tie the game for Rancocas on a pass from Gary Richardson. Less than two minutes later and skating with a man advantage, Ron McElhone converted an Andrew Dudley pass and Rancocas headed into the third period leading 2-1. Collingswood seemed to lose its opportunity to tie the game, as they had a two-man advantage for seventy-three seconds but failed to score.

However, with under five minutes remaining and Rancocas on a power play with a chance to ice the game, Collingswood captain Adam Wiedman scored on a short-handed breakaway to tie the game at 2-2. It looked like Collingswood would escape with a tie until Boehm's heroics.
